Mistral Internet, a UK-based Internet service provider, has announced that it has integrated a network-based storage solution from Network Appliance (NetApp) into its existing product portfolio, which will be available to all Mistral clients, deploying web servers and Internet and intranet application servers.

The new service from NetApp will be deployed on a virtual hardware platform, eliminating storage related problems, and initial deployments can be completed within hours, Mistral claims.

The high availability of the NetApp storage system and the multiply redundant Mistral network infrastructure will reportedly ensure that the uptime of a virtual server can be as high as possible. In addition, the load balancing and recovery options of the system mean that standby capacity can be shared between multiple users.
