Kobelco Eco Solutions, a Kobe Steel group company, announced on July 25 that it has developed a fuel gas generator in collaboration with the city government of Kobe.

The new device can produce fuel gas from sewage sludge, namely methane gas generated through the sewage treatment process.

The company has named the gas Bio Natural Gas. Since last year, Kobelco Eco Solutions has supplied the gas to buses and trash collector trucks running in Kobe City on a trial basis.

Kobelco Eco Solutions plans to exhibit the gas generator and make presentations of the generator at Sewage Works Exhibition 2005 Tokyo to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from July 26 to 29.

In addition, the company will support a test-drive event with Bio Natural Gas buses to be sponsored by Kobe City on the same venue.
